Open Studios - Vermont Crafts Council
Open Studio Weekend is a statewide celebration of the visual arts and creative process, offering a unique opportunity for visitors to meet a variety of artists and craftspeople in their studios, some of whom are only open to the public during this event. Those who experience Open Studio gain an appreciation for the creative process and the role that artists and craftspeople play in the vitality of Vermont’s communities. Participating small galleries and art centers show the work of local artists. Back Roads Farm is #120 on the road loop map. Be sure to stop by 10am-5pm each day to see Sandy Pond’s Sculptures, Bowls and Small Vessels.
Make-your-own-Teapot Herbal Tea Weekend Retreat with Katherine Elmer
Each day of this 2-day retreat will be on the farm from 10am to 5pm, and you’re invited to camp over at the many camping sites located at the farm. During the retreat you will be making your own teapot with Sandy Pond and creating a unique herbal blend with Katherine Elmer. Katherine will also lead herbal garden walks to learn about the different herbs, harvest those you want and blend your own tea. Get more info at Spoonful Herbals. Stay with us for the full two days and make your reservation to camp under the Milky Way with Sandy directly.
Pochinko Clown Technique Workshop
Led by Donna Oblongata, in this two-week 100-hour workshop students will create six clay masks, explore their body’s relationship to color, and hone their ability to follow their own impulses with an aim toward more honest, present, and fully alive performance.
